Research by HSE University and EISR: After visiting Russia Exhibition, the Vast Majority Feel Proud of their Country and Confident in Tomorrow
The achievements presented at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum make visitors proud of their country, believe 98% of the participants in a recent study prepared by HSE University and the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISR) in January 2024. More than 4,200 respondents took part in the survey.
The survey results show that nine out of ten visitors to the exhibition learned a lot about the achievements of Russia and its various regions, the culture of its peoples, and travel. At the same time, 88% of the respondents are highly likely to recommend the exhibition to other people.
The exhibits presented at the exhibition give people the opportunity to ‘feel part of a big country’ (96%) and instil faith in the future and confidence in tomorrow (95%). The majority of respondents (94%) reported that the exhibition gave them inspiration, strength to change, and the desire to try something new. The exhibition also evoked the desire to strive for one’s own achievements in 92% of the study participants.
Almost all respondents (90%) noted that they very much liked the content of the exhibition, and 89% highly appreciated the quality of the events held there.
As a result, the researchers concluded that throughout the exhibition, visitors highly rated both the overall experience and the individual aspects of it. Compared to a previous study, the results of which were presented in the EISR studio at the exhibition on December 12, 2023, the current assessment of the exhibition demonstrates stability, and even growth in some areas.
For example, the number of visitors who learned a lot about the historical development of Russia and its regions; the country’s economy and its territorial entities; and about traveling around Russia at the exhibition increased by 8%, 7%, and 6% respectively.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed that the Russia International Exhibition and Forum be extended. The declaration came during a meeting with the heads of municipal districts in the territorial entities of the Russian Federation—participants of the ‘Small Homeland—The Strength of Russia’ All-Russian Municipal Forum. According to him, the exhibition can continue during the ‘summer period’ because ‘a large number of people come to Moscow; millions of people will gladly come.’
The Russia International Exhibition and Forum collects the country's most important achievements at one site. Throughout the exhibition, guests will enjoy cultural events and a rich business and educational programme. Visitors can expect expositions from 89 Russian regions, leading federal departments, corporations, and public organisations. The exhibition is open at VDNKh in Moscow until April 12.
