HSE Art and Design School Accepts Projects for Contemporary Art Competition
The first season of the new competition for prospective applicants of HSE Art and Design School has started. The competition aims to unite promising young artists on one platform. The winners will receive tuition discounts of up to 100% for the HSE Bachelor's Programme in Contemporary Art.
About the competition
The competition in contemporary art aims to reveal the talents of prospective HSE Art and Design School students who create works in different formats and genres.
The competition will bring together promising young artists on one platform to determine the best projects in various fields of contemporary art. The winners will receive discounts of up to 100% for studying on the HSE Bachelor's Programme in Contemporary Art, while prospective students of the track in design and contemporary art will get an opportunity to exhibit their works offline.
Participation formats
The competition is divided into two formats; the participant can choose either one of them or both.
Contest participants should bring bold ideas and extraordinary approaches presented in independently selected formats. The work should stick to the principle of seriality; apart from that, there are no limits on the imagination and the choice of the author's presentation.
Terms of participation
Any student from the graduating class of a school or secondary education institution can take part in the competition.
To prepare a competitive project, the participant must refer to one of the proposed topics and present it in one of the established art formats: painting, graphics, collage, sculpture, art object, photography, land art, video art, installation, sound, etc.
Projects of HSE Art and Design School applicants
The theme should be revealed by a series of 6 elements or an installation demonstrated directly in the exhibition space. The project must be submitted online or offline, depending on the participation round.

Prizes
Each of the contest formats will have an intermediate results list, according to which applicants can get tuition discounts for the bachelor's programme ‘Contemporary Art’ and all its tracks (Contemporary Art; Concept Art and Metaverses; Screen Arts; Sound Art and Sound Design).
- 100 points awarded to the project in the online format of the Competition — 50% discount for the first year of study on the bachelor's programme ‘Contemporary Art’
- 95–99 points in the online format of the Competition — 30% discount for the first year of study on the bachelor's programme ‘Contemporary Art’
- 100 points awarded to the project in the offline format of the Competition — 100% discount for 4 years of study on the bachelor's programme ‘Contemporary Art’
- 96–99 points — 50% discount on the first year of study on the bachelor's programme ‘Contemporary Art’
- 90–95 points — 30% discount for the first year of study on the bachelor's programme ‘Contemporary Art’

How to Participate
Those who chose the online format can upload their project to the competition website. The deadline for registering and uploading the project is November 20. In this case, it will be evaluated at the end of this month. Applicants can take part in the competition every month. Click the 'Create' button in the upper right corner to create an account. Registered users will be able to upload their projects.
Those who want to immediately participate in the offline format and bypass the online round can register for the Open Day of the ‘Contemporary Art’ programme, where they can get detailed information from the curators of the HSE Art and Design School.

ADCR Awards: HSE University Wins in Ten Nominations
In early October, the award ceremony for the winners of ADCR Awards, a Russian professional competition in creativity, design and advertising, took place. This year, all the prizes in the Graphic Design/Product Design category were taken by HSE students. HSE University and Pobeda Airlines Launch Joint Competition
HSE Art and Design School, in collaboration with the Pobeda Airlines, has announced the start of a competition to create a new uniform design for flight attendants and representatives of the airline. Young professional designers, as well as students over 18 years old studying at Russian universities in full-time and part-time programmes in the field of ‘Design and Fashion,’ will have the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Exhibition by HSE Art and Design School Students Now Open at Fabrika Centre
The Fabrika Centre for Creative Industries is hosting a graduation exhibition by bachelor’s students of Contemporary Art at the HSE Art and Design School. In the exhibition titled ‘Freedom of Absurdity’, the early-career artists present their interpretations of melancholy.
