Winter Schools for Prospective Masters’ Students
The Winter Schools’ Programme for prospective masters’ students has now become a tradition here at the HSE. This year, the schools programme has been set up especially for foreign students, and for this reason the working language of schools will be English. In February 2009, for the first time, the HSE organized a series of scientific and professionally orientated winter schools’ programmes for prospective masters’ students. Since then during the winter vacations the school participants - our future prospective masters’ students - spend several days with the HSE’s leading professors listening to lectures given by prominent scientists and politicians, and learning about the HSE’s masters’ programmes, career opportunities, and admission rules and requirements.
The HSE’s Winter Schools’ Programme is an excellent platform for exchanging experience, competences, and energy; it welcomes young specialists desirous of achieving new results, and ready to experiment and put forward and reconsider new ideas. The classes last from morning till evening but we also make time for the students to socialize informally.
Each school’s programme includes:
- Lectures, master classes, and informal discussions with leading Russian researchers, experts, and people from the world of business;
- Detailed information on the HSE’s masters’ programme and its admissions’ policy;
- Studies take place in small classes, where each individual student’s research project is discussed;
- Cultural activities.
In order to enlist in the Winter Schools’ Programme, please send a completed application form to the organisers via email to the following:
- politanaliz@gmail.com (for the Public Policy Сourse)
- vvanikina@hse.ru (for the Oriental Studies Сourse)
- avsavelyeva@hse.ru (for the International Relations in Eurasia Course and the International Business Course)
The latest date for applications is 20th December, 2013, after which the applications will be reviewed by our panel of experts. Participants are chosen on a competitive basis. The successful candidates will receive invitations after the results have been announced.
The Winter Schools’ Programme is free for participants. The events will take place in hotels in the Moscow area. The HSE will pay for the students’ expenses: the educational and cultural programme, food and accommodation, and transfer to and from the hotel .Travel expenses to and from Moscow itself are not covered and those participants travelling to Moscow are expected to pay for this part of the journey themselves.
